Sustainability
Our goal is to inspire planned consumption - in all aspects of life.
We want to encourage you to think ahead and invest in products to enjoy for years to come.

100% of our Fontana towels and terry cloth bathrobes are GOTS certified.

100% of our down pillows and duvets are IDFL certified.
ASTHMA ALLERGY NORDIC
Asthma Allergy Nordic is a certification that ensures the product is clean and allergy-friendly, containing only down that has been thoroughly washed.
97% of our down products are recommended by Asthma Allergy Nordic.
Climate influence
Our manufacturing process and distribution affect the environment. One way of minimising our environmental footprint, in addition to encouraging more environmentally-conscious consumption - is planned production. By meeting demand, we can produce the right number of products, thereby reducing over-production, and the impact on the environment.
99.5% of our production today is in Europe. This is how we ensure that production complies with European laws regarding the use of chemicals, emissions and working conditions. A smaller production area means that the transport distance to our warehouse in Stockholm is decreased.
Social responsibility & ethical production
The Mille Notti Code of Conduct defines the ethical principles and societal responsibility we expect from our employees, suppliers, and partners. The code is based on our core values: Quality, Care, Trust, Responsibility, Transparency and Consciousness. It follows internationally recognised principles such as the UN Global Compact’s ten principles for working conditions, human rights, environmental responsibility, anti-bribery, and anti-corruption.
99.5% of our production today is in Europe.
Suppliers & partners
Our bed linen, terry towels, bathrobes and most of our other textile products are manufactured in Portugal by carefully selected suppliers. The down and fibre are manufactured in Poland, and the factory has a certificate that highlights that the manufacturing process is ethical. The beds and headboards are also manufactured in Poland in a small, Swedish-owned factory. All our suppliers have careful checks in place to control quality and purchase of materials.
Our mohair blankets are produced in South Africa by one of the world's leading producers of mohair blankets. They care about natural and ethical production and quality right through all levels of production.
Our Bacio bedspread is produced in India in a factory owned by a small family company.
Carefully selected material
Quality is not just about a good end product. It is about responsibility, knowledge, and awareness of the whole manufacturing process. This means that we place high demands on the entire chain; from manufacturing and materials to traceability and ethical production. We're constantly updating ourselves about new natural materials and alternative forms of cultivation that are more gentle for the climate.
100% of our bed linen and terry range is marked with the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.
OEKO-TEX® is a certification that guarantees that the product meets high organic standards for humans. This means that the products are free from harmful substances and are safe for children and adults.
Percale & Satin:
All our percale and satin fabrics are woven from finely combed cotton. This means that the cotton has been combed so that only the longest and strongest fibres remain. The bed linen is then woven with a high thread count. The result is durable bedding that maintains its high quality and lovely feel for many years to come.
All our white percale and Satina white is certified by GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard).
Linen:
All our linen products are made of 100 % linen. Flax has a significantly smaller environmental impact than other materials because flax can grow in colder climates where artificial irrigation is not required to the same degree, and it requires less fertiliser and spraying.
Lyocell:
TENCEL™ Lyocell is the variant of lyocell that only contains untreated wood material from controlled and certified forests, which have been allowed to grow under sustainable conditions. By using TENCEL™ Lyocell, we can guarantee that 99.5% of the solvents used during production are recycled in a closed system, and that the remaining solvents are purified.
Terry cloth:
Our terry cloth is made from organic ring-spun cotton, which means that the cotton yarn is spun using ring frames. This process twists and thins the cotton fibre strands so that they are extra fine, strong and soft. The result is a lovely terry that keeps its high quality for a long time. 100% of our Fontana towels and bathrobes made of terry are certified by GOTS.
Down:
All our down products contain European class 1 down and are made in Poland in a small factory with strict controls for quality and purchasing materials. 100% of our down pillows and duvets are certified by IDFL (International Down and Feather Testing Laboratory) and 97% are recommended by Asthma Allergy Nordic.
Mohair:
Our mohair blankets are produced in South Africa by one of the world's leading producers of mohair blankets. They care about natural and ethical production and quality right through all levels of production.
Beds:
All our beds have a stable frame made of pine that has been allowed to grow slowly in the northern forests in Sweden. They also have springs from the number one supplier on the market. The beds are manufactured in Poland in a small Swedish-owned factory.
Care
Quality and proper care extend the life of the products. Our responsibility starts with sourcing and using materials in a way that reduces waste and lowers our potential environmental and societal impact. But after that it's up to you. That's why we always try to communicate the importance of following the care instructions in a clear and inspiring way. This is how you can extend the lifespan of your bed linen even further, while reducing your own environmental impact.
Timelessness & transparency
Impulsive purchases based on passing trends are a big strain on the environment. We believe in more planned consumption, where products do not need to be replaced as soon as trends change or a new season is around the corner. That's why our products are designed to look great in your home, with a great life-span. Muted colours and superb quality result in favourites that you will want to (and can) keep for a long time.
Real change demands responsibility. Something we are convinced of is transparency - for our customers and ourselves. By openly sharing our starting points, challenges, successes, setbacks, and goals, we drive our sustainability efforts forward.
