How to organise your linen closet - 5 inspiring tips!

Spring is just around the corner and as the days are getting longer you’ll want to get organised – clear out, update and revitalise your home! Unleash your creative side and make your linen closet a place of gorgeous comfortable bed linen to make your dreams come true.

See our five tips that will transform your linen closet into the stylish organisation you’ve only dreamed of.

  1. CLEAR OUT, SORT OUT AND GIVE AWAY
Start by completely emptying your linen closet. Then you can sort sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, bath towels, tablecloths and kitchen towels into different piles. What can you store in your linen closet and what can you store elsewhere? Sometimes it’s more practical to store bath towels in the bathroom and kitchen towels in the kitchen. Get rid of anything that is worn or stained. If you have odd sheets or duvet covers that you never use – give them away to someone who can use them.

  2. CLEAN EVERYTHING
Clean and dry everything thoroughly. Vintage closets look gorgeous but sometimes come with a funny smell. You can easily get rid of this by putting a bowl with one part vinegar and two parts water in the closet overnight. Just a few drops of vinegar or fresh lemon juice in the water you use to clean with works, perfectly for drawers and shelves.
Making your bed with scented bedding is a lovely everyday luxury that is easy to create at home. Lavender bags are the most popular way to create a fragrance in your linen closet. You can either buy ready-made fragrance bags or make your own.

  3. ORGANISE
Linen closets need to be organised. Otherwise, everyday life will soon turn your neatly folded bedding into a cluttered nightmare. Instead, make sure everything has its place. Different sized baskets are great for organising. Last but not least! Remember to place things you use often at a height where you can easily reach them and things you rarely use higher up.

  4. FOLD, ROLL AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR BED LINEN
There’s no right or wrong. The main thing is to spend a few extra minutes carefully folding or rolling everything in your linen closet. You’ll appreciate it every time you open the door. To make a complete bed set easy to find, you can fold the duvet cover and put it in its matching pillowcase so everything is in one place when it's time to make your bed.

The feeling of freshly ironed sheets is hard to beat. But did you know that ironed sheets also take up less space, collect less dust and stay clean longer? Even if it takes time, it might be worth it. When you’re ironing, linen spray is a great way to give your sheets a little TLC, while achieving a smooth ironing result.

  5. FIND SUSTAINABLE FAVOURITES
When you buy exclusive bedding, you’re making an investment that you can enjoy for many years to come. That’s why it’s important to choose the material that suits you. Don’t stock your linen closet with any old thing – find your favourite textures!

Choose Volare and Singolo for crisp cool percale bedclothes, perfect for the summer, or if you often get too warm in bed. Choose Satina and Sobrio made of satin for a luxurious finish and a soft, silky smooth feeling – a favourite for our customers who get cold when they’re asleep. If you dream of natural luxury, our Lino collection made of linen is a stylish choice that is perfect all year round.
