Choose the right down pillow - 5 tips

The perfect down pillow is soft, fluffy and turns every night into a dream come true. That’s true – but here comes your wake-up call. The same down pillow doesn’t suit everyone. Your sleeping position and choice of mattress affect what pillow is best for you. Your spine and neck to be in line with each other. Then you’ll wake up rested and happy – feeling relaxed and ready to start the day, instead of tired and stiff.

1. YOUR SLEEPING POSITION DETERMINES WHICH PILLOW YOU NEED
Your sleeping position is the most important factor when it comes to choosing your pillow. Do you sleep on your back, stomach or side? 

Sleep well on your stomach  
It’s actually not a good idea to sleep on your stomach. Your neck ends up in an unnatural position, bent backwards so you can’t relax completely. But if we can’t talk you out of sleeping on your stomach, a flat pillow is your best option.

2. MATCH YOUR PILLOW WITH YOUR MATTRESS
Choosing the right pillow is just as important as choosing the right mattress and the most important thing is that they match. The firmness of the mattress is crucial. If your mattress is soft and you sink into it, a high pillow might be too high and vice versa. In other words, the wrong pillow can spoil the benefits you get from your mattress.

3. CHANGE YOUR PILLOW DURING THE NIGHT
Even if your current pillow doesn’t provide your body with the best ergonomic support, you might be used to it. Your new, “correct” pillow might feel uncomfortable at first. A tip is to alternate between two different pillows while you are getting used to your new pillow.
